The Three Sisters
The Three Sisters
Schapiro Studio NYC
Chekhov's masterwork The Three Sisters brings us to the turn of the century in a provincial town, revealing the lives of Olga, Masha, Irina, and their brother Andrey. They dream of moving back to Moscow to realize their future in the capital of intelligence, sophistication, and unfound love. They represent the decline and fall of aristocracy and its struggle with the upcoming working class and its invasion and occupation of their property incarnated by their sister-in-law Natasha which they don't seem to find the strength to fight against. With increasing claustrophobia and broken expectations, their urgency to escape the darkness of their lives is resolved in their seek of purpose and hope to move on.
