A Dream Play

A Dream Play

Schapiro Theatre NYC

By August Strindberg, a Caryl Churchill adaptation.

Agnes, a daughter of the gods, comes to earth, hoping to understand - and perhaps alleviate - human suffering. Her exploration takes her across a vast illusionary landscape: characters and locations assemble, dissolve and re-integrate in an instant, and the presence of a locked door transforms from a simple question to a philosophical puzzle. As Agnes delves deeper into our world, one question among many becomes inescapably clear: Can she save us as well as herself?
